Annual Meeting
On Tuesday night March 27th 2012, Parkland Light & Water Company held their 98th annual meeting at Keithely Middle School. Eighty four members attended the meeting where they were able to hear reports by Board President, Gary Grazzini and General Manager Mark R Johnson on the state of the cooperative. An election was held for one 5 year trustee position. Incumbent trustee Gary Hauenstein received 62 of 84 votes thus retaining his position for the next five years. In addition to the reports, the attendees received coffee, punch and cookies and were eligible for one of twenty door prizes given out through a drawing. The annual meeting is held each year on the fourth Tuesday in March according to our by-laws. If you missed this year’s meeting, please set aside March 26th, 2013 for attendance at our 99th annual meeting. The board hopes to see all our members at our next annual meeting.

Letter to our Membership concerning Water Rate Increase
After much deliberation and study, Parkland Light & Water Company has decided to increase the base fee for our water services effective May 1, 2012. All rate classes will be affected. For 5/8" residential customers the base fee will increase $1.80 per month. The consumption rate per unit of water will NOT increase. Your board and management continue to wrestle with the ever increasing upward pressure on the cooperatives rates while fulfilling our cooperative's mission of providing reliable and efficient service at the lowest cost, commensurate with sound financial and management principles'. Please be assured that your board and management do not take this rate increase or any rate increase lightly. We will continue to strive to provide quality service at the lowest possible cost ever mindful that we are owned by those we serve.
Sincerely;
Board and Management of Parkland Light & Water Company

151 million pounds of paper
8.6 million household garbage bags from going to the dump
2 million tons of carbon dioxide emissions
Enough gas to drive from New York to Los Angeles and back 918 times
12,000 acres of land from deforestation
